The scene is one of a series of six postcard photonegatives of Bronte Park and Beach made by the Sydney photographer Samuel Wood. Bronte's tram line, run down from Bondi Junction, reached the beach on 20 May 1911, and the extension made the sand accessible to large summer crowds of the kind shown here. Wood worked from nitrate negatives, which were later digitally copied and the unstable originals disposed of, so what survives is the digital copy.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Reverie Archive","offers":[{"title":"Brushed Aluminum Print \/ 20x30 cm \/ 8x12″","offer_id":50251563466890,"sku":"metallic_200x300-mm-8x12-inch_3-mm-silver-brushed_hor-grain_4-0_hor","price":119.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Canvas \/ 20x30 cm \/ 8x12″","offer_id":50251563499658,"sku":"canvas_200x300-mm-8x12-inch_canvas_wood-fsc-slim_4-0_hor","price":79.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0759\/2591\/3738\/files\/0ab6e6760c944393.jpg?v=1789950422","url":"https:\/\/reveriearchive.art\/products\/bronte-beach-looking-north-bathers-on-the-sand","provider":"Reverie Archive","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
