The house is viewed across its working gardens, where fenced planting beds radiate from a central path, with a small weatherboard outbuilding at right and open ground beyond the paling fence. Successive governors, particularly Lachlan and Elizabeth Macquarie, enlarged and improved the house between 1815 and 1820. Australia's oldest public building, it survives as Old Government House and is open to the public.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"State Library NSW","offers":[{"title":"Brushed Aluminum Print \/ 20x30 cm \/ 8x12″","offer_id":50061792968842,"sku":"metallic_200x300-mm-8x12-inch_3-mm-silver-brushed_hor-grain_4-0_hor","price":119.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Canvas \/ 20x30 cm \/ 8x12″","offer_id":50061793001610,"sku":"canvas_200x300-mm-8x12-inch_canvas_wood-fsc-slim_4-0_hor","price":79.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0759\/2591\/3738\/files\/6fa74c2d480f5c63.jpg?v=1787191822","url":"https:\/\/reveriearchive.art\/products\/government-house-parramatta-1805","provider":"Reverie Archive","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
