That trade was built on the firm's general catalogues, issued from about 1894, which carried its goods to country customers. The store's New Palace Emporium, designed by Albert Bond and opened in 1906, stood on George, Pitt and Goulburn Streets at Brickfield Hill, and the interiors in this series were photographed ca. 1933-1938.
