Several cylindrical gasholders stand behind a dense arrangement of retort houses, sheds and coal stockpiles, with jetties reaching into the river where a collier is moored, and residential streets extending across the higher ground beyond. The image is one of a group of aerial views taken by Milton Kent, dated by the collection to about 1939.
