Suspension Bridge over Long Gully, between Cammeray and Northbridge

Hand-coloured postcard showing the suspension bridge spanning the wooded gully and waterway between Cammeray and Northbridge, with masonry towers at each end carrying the cables and a steel deck across the valley. The bridge was built by the North Sydney Tramway and Development Company to encourage residential development on the estate then called Gordon's, and opened in January 1892 as a steel suspension bridge. The caption "Suspension Bridge, North Sydney 354" is lettered at the lower left, with the photographer's mark "M.A.B."
