A brick chapel in Gothic style stands within the grounds of the Carmelite Convent at Marrickville, its gabled facade set with a rose window, a statue in a niche above the entrance, and further statuary at ground level. A crowd is gathered along the front of the building, with a motor car and figures on the lawn to the right. The photograph was made by Sam Hood in 1932 during the golden jubilee marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Mother Superior.
